about

King Incognito delves into themes of faith, hope, and the search for meaning and guidance in life. It's a deeply personal exploration of a struggle with personal difficulties and depression. In the song, I refer to God as "King Incognito," an elusive figure that I seek for direction, guidance, and love during trying times…but also find myself running away from at times.

lyrics

If you’re willing,
I know that you can
Not deserving
Of Your will or Your plan Contemplating
The sounds of this electric silence

Do you see me
No speak and no hear
Not believing
You’d be so cavalier
But my enemies
Seem to be stuck in my head

But my Dear King Incognito
Are you watching my every step
Won’t you show me who you are

A lost connection
Enlighten my soul
A depiction
Of knowing my role
Dedication
Of baring the shadow of the night

I want you
To bring resurrection
Justice, peace
A new restoration
But you do you care
I thought it would be made all right

But my Dear King Incognito
I wonder who you are
Are you blind to me
Or I can I not see you?
But my dear King Incognito
Are you watching my every step
Won’t you show me who you are

Is it possible to find hope and faith
In the midst of the wildest storms?
Cuz he’ll benefit from my shame if he can
Maybe my map isn’t right
To get where I’m going tonight
Then I heard your voice from the heavens

Drawn by love
But stumbled by fear
To flee like doves
Would be insincere
To get the rest of
The day and the night and fly away

As a child I was
Afraid of the dark
Now I’m all grown up
The light’s just as stark
You need to disrupt
These patterns of life and light a spark

But my Dear King Incognito
I wonder who you are
Are you blind to me
Or I can I not see you?
But my dear King Incognito
Are you watching my every step
Won’t you show me who you are
